It’s September, and our beloved town of Cedar Park is host to some of the most amazing schools in the country for our children to attend. We have so much to be thankful for as we live in one of the most beautiful hill country regions of the country! School busses and carpools are shuffling our most precious community possessions each day. Isn’t it good to get back into a routine after the lazy days of summer have ceased? We know homework and busy schedules are not everyone’s favorites, however most of us crave a routine.
How’s your family’s daily dental routine going? Did summertime make you all a little more relaxed on the necessary dental habits? If so, the beginning of the school year is a great time to hit the ‘reset’ button and do a little check in on how everyone is doing. You may want to take a little time as a family to discuss how everyone is doing on the following vital dental habits.
- Brush at least two times per day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste. It’s not necessary to brush immediately after you eat. Waiting 30 to 60 minutes after eating is actually good for your teeth.
- Floss at least one time per day. Ensure that every family member is able to navigate through his or her teeth and gums sufficiently. Sometimes, large fingers, little fingers and braces can hinder the ability to floss properly. There are flossing tools that can help if you need them.
- Eat a healthy diet and limit sugary snacks and drinks.
- Schedule your regular checkup and cleaning today with Rock Point Family Dentistry today!
