Dental Technology

The field of dentistry is always evolving. Instruments, techniques and methods are continually improving. At Rock Point Family Dentistry, we make it a point to stay on top of the latest developments in the dental field. This is part of our commitment to providing you with excellent oral care for your comfort and optimum oral health.

Our office makes use of dental technology that ensures your visit is productive, efficient and comfortable. Among the equipment we use for your comfort and convenience are:

  • Digital X-rays
  • DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detection
  • Intraoral Camera
  • Isolite System

Digital X-rays provide immediate imaging so we can see what is happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. Unlike the old traditional x-ray machines, these newer machines provide information using less radiation and no chemicals for developing film. They are healthier for you and the environment.

We can now detect cavities in their earliest stages with the Diagnodent Laser Cavity Detection device. It may sound a little like science fiction, but it gives real results so that we can stop tooth decay problems before they have a chance to do any significant damage. This also means you save time and money because we can address the issue before it has a chance to develop into a bigger problem.

There are places in your mouth that are even difficult for the dentist to view. The Intraoral Camera shines light on these challenging areas and gives both you and the dentist an opportunity to see what is happening. The Intraoral Camera allows for more accurate diagnosis and better treatment outcomes since what was once difficult to see is now made obvious.

The Isolite System makes your visit more comfortable and the procedure easier for your dentist to perform. This system keeps the procedure area isolated so that debris is not falling down your throat during the procedure. It also makes it easier for the dentist to focus on the tooth or area that requires work. This system means less time in the dental chair.

If you have questions about any of our procedures or instruments, please be sure to ask them. We strive to make sure your visit with us is as pleasant as possible. This is why we stay current on trends and technology, so we can bring the best to you! To take advantage of our technology, please contact Rock Point Family Dentistry today to schedule an appointment.
